“Let medicine be thy food and food be thy medicine.”

Goals:
For as long as humans have walked the Earth food has been an integral part of survival. Food provides us with energy and nutrients so that we may live healthy lives. As mankind and civilization have advanced, we have been able to make great strides in the fields of science and medicine which have diminished the day-to-day struggle of finding enough to eat in most communities; however even the greatest advancements in medicine prove inadequate in the face of severe malnutrition which proves that the search for adequate nutrition continues to be man's greatest challenge.
My immediate goal is to become a Registered Dietitian. I feel that my undergraduate and graduate coursework coupled with my dietetic internship has fully prepared me to take the registration examination and become a Registered Dietitian. Upon my certification I hope to begin a lifelong career aiding patients by supplying them the knowledge and nutrition they need to ensure the treatment their doctor provides them will be as beneficial as possible.
My long-term goal is to use the knowledge and skills I have gained from my education and life experiences to empower others to live healthier lives through proper nutrition. I want to be as educated as possible in my area of practice, so a secondary long-term goal is to earn professional certifications. Overall, I hope to create a lifelong career by providing patients the nutrition they need so the treatment their doctor provides them will be as beneficial as possible. I strongly believe promoting food in conjunction with medicine is the most effective preventative and curative approach.
